The General Choi Cup is an event I have not missed since I started back with Taekwon-Do after a break of ten years. this time was to be my first not competing however so i had the opportunity to give back to the art that has given so much to me.

As i had only recently hosted my first tournament, i knew what a mammoth effort was required from the organiser Mr Tyson. The venue was fantastic and thanks must go to the traditional owners of that land for providing us with the opportunity to compete there.

The patterns divisions for the coloured belts finished rapidly and sparring was underway before we knew it. The black belt division was HUGE and took a bit longer than expected but was also finished only slightly behind the original schedule.

The overall spirit and competitiveness of ALL competitors was just fantastic and it goes to show that Taekwon-Do really does bring out the best in people.

A big thanks must of course go to Mr Tyson and Mr Abdallah for the great job they clearly did, but also to Mr Harper and Mr Christenson who both did a fantastic job in keeping things running on time ensuring that the tournament was indeed successful.

All in all a great time was had by all and the team training the next day was extremely productive!
