We then went through a series of presentations for the booklet; Shawn Sutton began with a discussion about online presence covering aspects of internet that can be used to ensure a club is successful. This covered Websites, and the use of Facebook and YouTube to provide information to interested parties and promote the club and organisation.
Michelle Keenan then ran the group through the importance of engaging the media when promoting an event, Michelle advised on how to present information to attract the attention of Newspaper, Television, and Radio to obtain coverage for an event.
Next, John Abdallah ran us through all aspects on the general running of a club, focussing on several key points that must be considered to grow a strong club. This proved very enlightening for the group as it covered a lot of lessons learned the hard way, over a number of years.
The final session belonged to Master Daher as he went through the process of how a class should be run, outlining step by step the minimum requirements that must be met by all instructors, and the expectations that must be set with the students. This included examples of how we must present ourselves both physically and verbally. Master Daher explained where to focus training for each belt level and how to compile activities in a way students will understand while helping them to increase their ability through the patterns.
The day ended with a presentation of course certificates on the successful completion of the course, with all of the attendees knowing that the journey on the road to our Taekwon-do Dream is only just beginning.
